Election of representatives and alternates:
Requires a nominating assembly to select candidates for offices
-students complete petitions with student and teacher signatures
-speeches must be submitted
-assembly for school to introduce candidates
-voting (use voting machines)

 

October

Set up Committees:
-sunshine - send cards to students, staff out of school
- recognition - recognize faculty and staff for their contributions
- food council - meet w/ head of cafe to discuss menus, cafe issues
-improvements - come up with new ideas to try at the school (assemblies, etc)

Fun Night for grades 5/6 -usually end of October
- Haunted hallways, pool, games, Kidzplay

Halloween Dress Up
-select categories/ prizes for the school

 

November

Fun Night for grades 7/8
-dance, pool, games, computer games, Kidzplay equipment???

-Special days for the school for Nov/ Dec
(pj day, class distinction day, Hawaiian day,etc

- line up teachers for the Christmas ornament project

 

December

Christmas Ornament Project
(make ornaments after school)
- deliver them with Meals on Wheels

Put together a skit for class awards, etc.

* There is at least one officer's meeting and a meeting for reps once a month *

-The President prepares an agenda for all members -Pres. and VP meet after every meeting with the Principal -Rec. secretary puts out minutes of the meetings -Corr. secretary takes care of all mail / bulletin boards -Treasurer keeps accurate record of all the money

Student Council members get a shirt that the students design - new design each year

Student Council goes on at least one outing a year - tubing, Bison game, Lasertron, etc.

** Student Council runs a sale every other year to raise funds for the school activities **
